Welcome to Carpenter Lake Cabins

Carpenter Lake Cabins offers quality housekeeping accommodations in the rugged wilderness of the Algoma Highlands 90 km east of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The resort also has a campground, good beaches for swimming, canoes, kayaks and well-marked hiking trails that lead to waterfalls and scenic lookouts. Recreational opportunities include world-class fishing for lake trout, brook trout, pike and bass in more than a dozen nearby lakes where we have boats. Partridge are native to the area and can be hunted in the fall.

We are open May through October and are accessible by car. Weekly cabin rates range from $676.00 to $1188.00 for a family in summer and include free use of boats.

Staying connected is important-even in the wilderness. We have free Wi-Fi access by satellite and use of the lodge telephone.

At Carpenter Lake we love the land, cherish the lakes and strive for harmony with the environment. Stay a while and share this clean, clear wilderness with your family. Experience our new solar electric system, reduced carbon footprint and be one with nature.

Fishing

Carpenter Lake Cabins lies in a rugged and elevated part of the Canadian Shield. Here, the semi-mountainous bedrock is punctuated with deep, clear lakes connected by fast-flowing streams. These waters are home to several varieties of fresh water fish including bass, pike, brook trout and lake trout.

The lodge maintains boats on more than a dozen local lakes. Cabin guests have free use of these boats and can choose the type of fish to be sought on each outing. Reaching the nearby lakes is part of the fishing experience. Although some neighboring lakes can be accessed by a few minutes drive in a car, others are more distant and require walking, portaging or use of 4x4 trucks and All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). We have a 4-seater ATV and outboard motors that can be rented to reach far-away lakes and to get around when you get there. Bringing your own ATVs gives more freedom to access distant places and allows you to fish and explore as you wish.

The Recreational & Fishing Map shows the local terrain and lakes and the tortuous network of tracks and trails by which you get in touch with these places. Contact us for details of where you might choose to go and how best to get there.
